Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had a nice end to the year and the decade.
A lot happened with NetHack in just the last month – two official releases in as many days in December 2019 (versions 3.6.3 and 3.6.4), and a development version of NetHack 3.7.0 was also made public during the same time. We’ve retired 363-hdf and are hosting 370-hdf as of a couple weeks ago. You can read all about it from this reddit post.
A handful of variants have also seen new version updates within the last several days (EvilHack, SpliceHack, notdNetHack), and a couple more are on the way so stay tuned. Happy new year!

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Just a bit more than 24 hours ago, The November NetHack Tournament for 2019 came to a close. Last years debut was a lot of fun, but this year was even better I think. The tournament was well received, a lot more people played this year, and we witnessed some amazing games and conducts achieved. A bit more in-depth review of the tournament can be found here, and an online survey can be filled out here.
Thanks to everyone who played, we hope you had a great time playing. And a special thanks to the friends I get to work with in making this tournament possible. Looking forward to TNNT 2020.

Well damn… made it to 19 years. Awesome :-) Happy 19th birthday Hardfought! It’ll be 20 years before we know it. Just crazy.
Other news – The November NetHack Tournament for 2019 is good to go and will kick off November 1st at midnight UTC. Be sure to visit the ‘Tournaments’ link under the NetHack menu for access to the TNNT page. New trophies and achievements this year, as well as some new custom content. Better scoring methods, less ‘scummable’ trophies, team limits, bug fixes, and so on. Public beta is currently open, so feel free to try out the new code, and please report any bugs you may find (we’ve found and fixed a few already).
Before I forget, and I should have posted about this a long time ago – JunetHack 2019 finished with player ‘Luxidream’ basically winning everything. Something like 40% of all ascensions were by him. Just… wow. Good going Luxidream!
Alright, that’s it for now. Will post again soon announcing the TNNT kick-off.

The annual Junethack NetHack variant tournament has begun! The tournament officially kicked off about 14 hours ago as of this posting. All variants save one (DNH Slex) can be played here to count towards players/clan scoring. The tournament will end at midnight (UTC) July 1st.
Decent number of clans have signed up, and at last count it looks like 162 players have joined the tournament. Hoping for another good year of close competition between the teams. Good luck all and have fun!
