Happy 4th of July, HF LAN #7 news

By K2 on July 4th, 2006 at 10:35 am EST

Happy 4th of July gang… our country is now 230 years old? Hope you’re all enjoying the weekend with friends and family. Me, I’m posting from my parents house here in Oklahoma, got my sis and her kids here, and brought my fiance along for the ride. Gonna do the whole fireworks thing tonight, weather permitting (gotta love Oklahoma thunderstorms). So, have a safe and happy 4th.

Now, onto HF LAN #7 news, and this will be the last news post before our lil event kicks off. For the Friday night meet before the party – that’s gonna be at the Down Under Pub & Grub at 3231 Preston Road, Frisco, TX. It’s literally a mile or so north of the Guildhall where the lan will be at, like 5 min away. Figure on meeting there around 7:30-8pm. At 5pm that same night, the Guildhall will be open for gear setup. I’ll be there setting up the game servers and my rig, as will a couple other people. If you wanna swing by to drop off your gear and setup at this time, you’re more than welcome to do so. We’ll head off to the Pub n’ Grub afterwards. The following morning at 9am is when the LAN will officially open and start.

If ya haven’t signed up yet, but are still planning on going, sign up. If you just wanna show up, that’s fine too, but the sign up form helps me get a better head count, and lets me stay a bit more organized. Be sure to see the FAQ on the sign up form for what you’ll need to bring.

That’s all I got folks. Have a great holiday, and I’ll see ya at the lan ;-)

Week 4 Report

By K2 on July 4th, 2006 at 10:08 am EST

This weeks map was de_cpl_fire. Week 4.1 was against Team Aristocracy. Hardfought opened the match with a pistol round win on CT. They were able to hold the lead to close the first half 8:7. Aristo came back strong on the T side and kept Hardfought down to only three rounds for a final score of Aristocracy-19 | Hardfought-11.

The second match of the week was against the undefeated ampliFy Gaming. With Sandbox (the main strat caller) unable to play, Hardfought went into the match at a disadvantage. “In our scrims prior to the match [our strats] worked amazing but for some reason our flashes weren’t effecting them and same for smokes.” -Aftermath. The final score was Amplify-22 | Hardfought-8.

CAL is on a short break for the holiday. Matches are scheduled to resume the week of July 16th.
