What did Santa bring you for Christmas?

Postby JayPhat » Dec 25th, 2006 at 8:42 pm

I bagged seasons 1-3 of Smallville, Battlefield 2142, Ghost Recon: AW, Audioslaves Out of Exile, Shinedowns first album, a subsciption to PCGamer and a magazine I never heard of called Wizrd(Pretty sweet actaully), and a copy of Sun Tzu's Art of War.

Nice day, this year was.

I got a Wii, a 300 dollar gift certificate to bestbuy, 3 games( zelda, red steel, and call of duty 3), 4 dvd's, 4 shirts, and a gift card to chipotle. Not a bad haul if you ask me ;]

Pred lol... Russian humor, gotta love it.

The wife helped me pay for the work done to my Buick 350 small block, and she also got me a fifth-generation iPod, 80GB (black)... those were my xmas gifts. I got her a CD box set: Grateful dead - Beyond Description... everything they've ever recorded from 1973-1989. Also got her an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner/tarnish remover thing from sharper image. She likes keeping her wedding/engagement rings nice and shiny :P

We just got back from spending a few hours on one of the secluded beaches on North Shore, watching the 20-ft breaks slam the shoreline, eating leftover xmas dinner food and drinking Corona's. Life is good ;)

I was able to give quite a few gifts around to family, not something I have been able to do all that much. Being able to give back is a pretty nice feeling.

Ke Iki beach, where we got married... about half a click south of the pipeline. You cant surf it; the break is way too close to shore, it's almost as bad as sandy beach. Some guys were out there trying to body surf it/boogie board, but they were gettin the shit beat outta themselves, and they quit after about 15 min of trying.

Damn impressive to watch, tho. You can hear those waves pounding the shore at night all the way up on the hill we live on.

My wife and I stopped giving each other gifts once we had Thomas - we just get some small things from "santa" for the other's stocking. But this year, we decided to spend some $$ we don't really have and Jennifer joined me for 2 nights in NewOrelans when I was there on Biz. We ate out at the Revillion Dinners - basically 4-5 course meals for under $50, really 5-star stuff. We have convinced most of the adults in the family to not trade gifts, and we focus on the kids, what used to happen was you ended up getting a half dozen desktop calendars and coffee mugs that you didn't want, and frankly we all decided to focus on real reason for season.

Heh, dunno yet, havent left the house with it ;) I'm busy trying to fill it up with movies... already uploaded my entire mp3 collection, and that only took up 10 GB. Given the average size of a typical .mp4 rip of a DVD made for an iPod, I'll be able to fit about 60-65 movies on this on top of the music I already stored on it.

I received nothing but clothes.

A Banana Republic shirt and vest. American Eagle jeans and shirt.

I also got an extra clip for my Sig and a box of shells.

That's it.

Not to mention a broken heart... *sigh*

Me too! I also got a shirt that says "I didn't lose my mind, I sold it on eBay." and some night pants which I happen to be wearing right now. :)

Added bonus is I get to work from home all this week. Woohoo!

Very cool of K2 and Jenn to share their Christmas with friends. A lot of people close up and say "no! It's US time ONLY." Then all those homesick single people we all know have no place to go :(

You got her a new car for christmas! Holy crap man. When I see the comercials I always wonder who is rich enough to give cars as presents. Now we know...video game designers!

Why did you get her such a crappy car - why not a Toyota or Honda? Mercury is pos, hope you got extended warranty!

The Toyota equivalent is like twice as much, lol, don't know if Honda makes an equivalent vehicle.

Image
2007 Land Cruiser
MSRP: $56,215

Image
2007 Mercury Mountaineer AWD Luxury 4.0L
MSRP: $29,575

This is the closest I can find from Honda...
Image
2007 Honda Pilot
Starting MSRP - Trim Level
$27,095 2WD LX
$28,395 4WD LX
$29,645 2WD EX
$30,945 4WD EX

Regardless, that Mountaineer is really nice. :P
