We only have 8 planets left in our solar system. Pluto was just destroyed*

The IAU said in a statement on Thursday that the definition for planet is now officially "a celestial body that (a) is in orbit around the Sun, (b) has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape and (c) has cleared the neighborhood around its orbit."

Hmm... so every astrological prediction that EVER took nine planets into account, is WRONG.

no, they just nver had a rigid definition of what a planet was. basically the group came together and was faced with making a rigid definition (and allowing for 8 planets) or a looser one (which would have made for i think 12 or 13 planets, pluto + some planetoids found in recent years). I personally think they made the right choice ...
