What could be BAD news from the Men Up Stairs

Valve announced the possibility of game play tweak! ( OH NOES! ) after the recent flopping lolercoaster that the game turned into when servers activated DWP they realize that the deagle is just better then the other guns. And it looks like the Five seven could get some tweaks.

I'll be unavailable for a while after Monday so some one better talk about it, so i can come back and read it.

( BTW i was playing around with it and i love the new forum code, specially the Spoiler tags. Good stuff.)

basically valve is retarded, and rather than admit that their DWP doesnt work (i.e. deagles 16k, m4's 16k and ak's 16k after just about 1 and a half months) they are going to make some of the other pistols more powerful. IMO this is stupid and valve is going down the pooper but what are ya gonna do, glock armor owns on T pistol anyways and if u dont buy a nade/kit/flash on ct side (unless the strat calls for somthin else) than you are a noob anyways. This shouldn't really affect competetive play, but we will see...

I can't believe it took the failure of DWP for them to realize which guns are good and which ones are bad. I'm just not sure why it's so important for Valve to encourage the use of other weapons. I think changing the stregnth of the weapons will definately have an effect on competative play.

Tree, imagine if the deag was less accurate or it was no longer a one shot headshot.

Last night I was in a scrim and got one deaged in the head for only 99 dmg. That kinda surprised the guy that shot me and all the guys in deadspec. If that were the norm and not the exception no one would ever buy a deag. They'd just stick w/ the USP.

Perhaps Valve should just let shit work instead of constantly trying to fix something thats not broken. Christ, they aren't Toyota.

You know what is great? You guys complain about valve making mistakes, but valve has the best support for their games than any other company of popular games (other than guild wars).

Other games I play have lots of flaws that never get patched or take forever to patch.

I played CS:S last night for the first time in like.. 9 months. It amazed me how I had over 100 fps at 1280x1024, with max quality, 6x aa, and 16xaf. not to mention that the lines were straight across the map, and i saw no flickers or jagged edges anywhere. plus shadows were accurate and generated well and the game looked good. I think the source engine is amazing and even though valve has some stupid shitty ideas (like the new radar, crouching, DWP, riot shield, etc), eventually they work things out.

Bioware has the best support of any game I've ever played - NWN 1's popularity to this day is a testament.

id software was pretty decent too back in the day.

While Valve may be more pro-active in their support than most other companies, some of the 'improvement' decisions they've made lately makes you wonder what kind of drugs they hand out to their employees over there.

25 % Increase

I played around with the new elites and five seven power. I gotta say that i am glad about the changes overall, its a simple 25% increase to how much they hurt. The changes are visable almost instantly, and more so with the Elites then the others. Most of you old skool people probably don't say the same but i personaly think its a step in the right direction. I'm not saying we need any more steps, but i like this new one. It atleast feels ( to me) like the deagle is not the only choice for a side arm upgrade.

Out of the frying pan and into the "Phyer" as my exgirlfriend says.
It has been basically nonstop action since i've gotten back from being unavailable.
I'll be moving before the weekends out so you will see me around EVEN LESS for a while, but after that i wont have too terribly much to do other then sort a few things out life wise. I'll try to make a habit of paying a visit more often. Have fun, people.

All of the servers I play at have the dynamic pricing turned off. Alot of people from Hardfought have migrated over to [M2] CSS server 66.228.120.12:27015 , its a pretty decent 100 tick server, dynamic pricing turned off as I mentioned before.

Been out of town so i haven't seen this latest set of patches but aside from when the game turned "full version" i've always thought the game tweaks and patches keep it fresh. I stopped playing when it was no longer beta and it became cs 1.0 cause i thought i'd be stuck with that version forever. Instead they just keep tweaking it and don't have to call it beta in a box. I'm cool with that. I do miss the days of the sub-machinegun but i've come to like my Ak/m4. The deagle has always been a great sidearm but the other choices are always there to make a pistol round more intresting. I personally like to buy USP/Flash on my T side pistol. Eco rounds or light rounds can make the sub-machineguns come into play for a couple rounds, at least, before the game turns into a rifle and, finally, awp fest. They've removed a good part of the bullet penetration damage and all of the nade penetration. I even think the new radar looks much cleaner plus they disabled the spotting feature through smoke (albeit a little late). I dunno, Valve isn't perfect but they didn't do all bad either. I think they might just be overworked. Have you ever watched some of the interviews with the staff there? they look like they've been up on something for the last month.

I agree. I would rather play a game that changes a little at a time, then do something like EA and go nuts with games like BF2, and such. The majority of people complaining are elitists who hate change. I don't understand it. If it's really going to make the game suck, quit playing it. I've seen this happen every time. 1.1 comes out "Omfg 1.1 sucks 1.0 is teh best!!"

1.2 comes out... "1.2 sucks 1.1 is the BEST!"

It never fails, whatever Valve does, nobody is pleased with. Do they even have a legit reason as to why they don't like it and make the point NOT sound like they are just whining to whine? I have yet to find one...

1.0 was the best! :P
