I think his point is that showing us a nice picture of an HDTV or something doesn't do shit cause it can only look as nice as the system we have.

Listen ya bastage.. you may disagree with my political views, but when it comes to technology, I speak from experience.
Yes.. there was a time when Mr. K2 needed to setup an email server and who did he turn to... yessir, he did!
BTW.. that was the good 'ol times. My wife and I had only been married a couple of years when I stumbled onto the HF CS server for the first time. Seven years later you still can't get rid of meh! I really miss those times

yeah in person I could see it, but here on my LCD or in his case on his shitty CRT I have no idea how much better it would look, when I sit here and look at it the best it can look is the way that my LCD looks. So in his case the screen is green.... I believe it was an attempt at humor...

I am assuming you mean "lcds" when you said "leds". If so, they will be cheaper ultimately. They also have a alot of other options for usage besides TV/Monitors. I saw a concept demo of an OLED on a paper thin piece of some organic material. It was highly flexible and was rendering a video while the dude was bending it around. Impressive, to say the least. The biggest problem they have to overcome right now is life span. OLEDs lose their life (read: they get dimmer) sooner than conventional LCD displays.
