Postby LeoPawnz » Feb 15th, 2005 at 3:46 pm

I'm trying to decide for my clan's server, someone gimmeh the stats if you'd be sokind. I personally own a full copy of Windows Server 2003: Enterprise Edition so I'm curious about the pros and cons for the two related ONLY to CS:S. I also have the full latest SQL Server for psychostats.:D :D

If you're well versed in Linux, I'd go that route. The only reason HF is on w2k3 is because I know that platform pretty well. I'm a noob when it comes to Linux, and I just dont have he time to get myself up to speed.

FYI - I'm not so sure how well PS 2.x will run on MsSQL, you would prolly be better off using MySQL instead.

If you run server 2003 (which I recomend until you have toyed with Linux for a while) then you can install Apache Triad. This installs Apache, MySQL, PHP and a host of other nice toys. Runs very well and has a nice gui interface. Give it a shot on your home box first.
