And yes I'm all about making things fit in, it's like my site... I modded images in the Simple Machines Forums to fit into my color scheme, all the way down to the advertisements like PHP and MySQL.

Took a boatload of time to do those though, basically had to manually do them pixel by pixel for a lot of the lettering.

Was wondering if you were going to get rid of the black corners and make 'em transparent Awesome. Pure awesomeness.

About your suggestions for the UCP and private messages - yeah I know the colors and look are off. I havent gotten around to adjusting that section yet; been focusing more on what ppl see the most. But I will get to it by this weekend for sure.

About extensions - I can add.7z easily. If there are any other extensions you think I need to add, lemme know.

OK I d/l'ed the hf buttons ya made KC. The fonts look... weird. Maybe it's because they dont have that lil bit of fuzziness like the orginals have. You have any idea what font is being used with the originals?

EDIT - hahah guess what? The original style author included big/small button .psd files. Would that help?

EDIT #2 - I'm gonna attach the .psd files along with the readme the author included. Has links to the exact font he used (its free). Lemme know what ya think and what you can do.

I was going to ask about that, I think I typed it up twice but discarded it lol.

And what I figured, I can't open PSD files, cause I use PaintShop Pro, need Adobe PhotoShop for most PSD's (But the image template isn't really an issue here being that I've already created a set to use as the base image for those, the font is the real issue.. Could try something like...

My problem with making them like that is when you get into glows I need to use floating selections so it's not as easy getting alignments right, there's no center point for a floating selection like there is for vector selections.

He doesn't really tell me all the info I need either, since he doesn't tell me font sizes or glow widths etc. On these 2 I'm using 2 pixel white glow on the white letters and 3 pixel green glow on the green letters.

Edit: Blah lol those 2 using wrong font still...oops.

I swear that's not the font he used...
Here's the results of using the specified font....

Keep in mind I used "Bold" on that text too, it looks way too thin to have been the font he used IMO.

Edit: Here's one you can compare easily with the original, the quote button..

You can see that the text is much thinner than the originals, unless he used a thin glow on all text with a width of maybe 1 or 2, and then used a diffuse glow on the mouseovers after the thin glow, but even that looks too thin to me.

Thin glow looks right, or at least its a step in the right direction.

The letters in the font look blocky, not rounded like the originals. Maybe he did some touch-up after the fact? Or maybe ya need photoshop.

It probably has to do more with which addon/plugins he used to do the glows with. Or however he bolded those letters to make them so fat looking compared to the actual font. I'm using the Bold settings for the font and it still looks like maybe half as thick on the lettering.

Well you could def test out those icons, to test the transparency, since they use no fonts.

Ya, it's a bitch getting fonts that look good, or getting them to look right across different size images etc. I turned off kerning, which squishes the letters together, when I made that too. So that's pretty much default for this font. I'm in 1680x1050 resolution too, things are fairly small on my screen, I don't really see the jagged edges. Unless you are talking about the edges of the actual image, those black spots, I worked those off in the other images (the ones that I zipped last night), didn't implement to these since it was just font testing.

lol anyone who says Photoshop is easier to use than Paintshop is high on crack, man, this program fing sucks. Can't get it to do shit I want it to do. I can't even get it to change font sizes or styles..I can change the actual font, just can't seem to adjust any of its settings, this is terrible.

Yeah I might be able to space them out a little, it seems the direction the OG creator took with them is quite in depth, a lot of specific settings to get the font to look the way it did. I think spacing them will be easy should just be negative kerning. Too bad I'm playing DAoC atm.

Edit: Looked the same to me, trying with 50 kern. I'll be editing this post for a bit working to test these edges out.
