So I'm walking through the yard and I hear a bell...

Postby Nad » May 2nd, 2009 at 9:29 pm

I'm outside working in the garden and I hear this bell. I don't know of any animal in the area who wears a bell, so I get a bit concerned and go looking around. What do ya know, new neighbor down the street has a 250lb potbelly pig with a bell on its collar. They are at Jazz Fest for the weekend and their pig got out :(

So now I have a potbelly pig in a dog kennel in my yard, and she is making my 2 hogs go nuts and she is too heavy to move away from them. Gonna be a long weekend

You have hogs?

Yeah, 2 Hampshires about 150lbs a piece. Waiting for them to hit 200lbs so I can slaughter and eat them.

I live about 12 miles from the nearest city big enough to have a town hall. Zoned rural, but we've got a good number of neighbors within earshot. Why?

Just curious. The way you described it it sounded residential, and most towns are stingy on livestock being kept within town limits.

Yeah, ironically we'll probably be the only place to get food if that time ever comes. Then again, I reckon a 1000lbs of pinto beans could feed you for a few years and only cost about 300 bucks.

Beans, beans, they're good for your heart.
the more you eat 'em, the more you fart.
