Hi all. Been out here 3 weeks already, got another month to go before we're done. Been doing some pretty intense, interesting training out here in the mojove. The army took an entire town and gutted it so we could train in a realistic urban environment. They hire real iraqi civilians and everything to play as locals/enemy. Some real good shit, especially for our new soldiers.

Anyways, I got a few days down-time before we go back out in 'the box' for 14 days straight. Finally got access to a high speed 'net connection thru one of those cyber cafe deals the military sets up for the troops. I can connect thru my cellphone anywhere (get a decent signal pretty much everywhere) at anytime, but it's slow as fuck, plus I dont usually have the time.

Doin fine. About to go into phase 3, which is 2 weeks straight in 'the box', a complete iraq simulation, in every way and aspect. I'm getting promoted to staff sergeant right after phase 3 is complete, so it should be a nice end to a long 7 weeks.

Thx all ;)

Just got outta the box this afternoon. The next 72 hrs will be a whirlwind of activity, getting the strykers cleaned and prepped to be ready to ship for thei rfinal retrofit and then off to Kuwait, and then cleaning and packing up all of the rest of our gear, getting 100% of all the sensitive items, and so forth.

Hoping to catch a plane back to Hawaii on the 7th of Oct.
