Guns in the news

Postby Jahiliyya » Nov 13th, 2006 at 3:40 pm

Submitted w/ no comment.

Lambert says the man pulled a .25-caliber handgun from his pocket, apparently to rob him. Lambert pulled his own .380 caliber and the two were pointing weapons at each other for a tense moment.

The commissioner says he told the man to put down his gun and the man said he didn't want any trouble.

The suspect fled on foot and police later arrested 19-year-old Kane Stackhouse on an attempted robbery charge.

And then there's this:

http://wcbstv.com/topstories/local_story_316183306.html

Police say 16-year-old Shaka Walcott and 45-year-old Ronald Johannes had been arguing for more than a week. Police say the teenager returned to the Bronx Burger King Saturday night and was shot several times in the chest by the manager.

But did the magazines hold more then 10 rounds?...
(Ok maube just one little comment.)

What does magazines(which mags?) not holding more than 10 round have to do with anything?

If you shoot someone more than a couple times, especially at point-blank range, that can indicate something more than just simple self-defense.

If you empty a clip, take the time to reload, and continue to fire... you've probably got some serious mental issues. Or you were just *really* pissed off at that person.

It's a throwback to the days of the Brady bill which prohibited the sale of pistol mags w/ a capacity bigger than 10 rounds because they were deemed more deadly than pistol mags w/ a capacity of 10 rounds or less.

If you want to go that far, there are guys that are more deadly with a single shot .22 than someone with a 16 round glock.
