But they need Collina to ref :P

i wish they would let collina be a ref until he's 90!! hehe ... no but i was talking about the PK drogba should have had and they gave a free kick to argentina, looked like the 2nd goal was an offside goal and right there , gave Ivory coast a yellow card when he clearly dived ...

the disallowed goal doesn't look like the ball went ALL the way in ...

Yeah Pred I was about to say you were smoking some good crack with your first post about the HD lol. I freaking could see the pollen/dust or whatever it was floating thru the sunlight, kind of like the HDR effects in CSS. Now that is some sharp detail. Soccer really goes great with HD.

I don't have Direct TV-HD set up yet so I have to watch it normal on analog ESPN. Trust me I can see the difference between the ABC-HD.

All of this great underdog play, really is boosting my hopes for USA on Monday.

Just one win over the Czechs or Italy and USA basically moves on.

Man, i wish. Sigh, when i was in Russia i played everyday. During summers, i played at least 4 hours a day, not anymore tho :(.
But yea dude, Ivory Coast played an AMAZING game, especially against a team like Argentina. The pace was not Argentinian at all but they got a break on lucky rebound and a nice pass.

Maybe because they beat us.

For starters, in baseball: http://ww2.worldbaseballclassic.com/2006/index.jsp

Japan won that.

The US, with all its basketball talent, placed third in the last olympics.

Then, again, in Baseball, the US didn't even place during the last olympics. They won in 200, came in Bronze is '96, but that's it ...

American Football isn't really international, but it is catching on in Canada ...

Not just some of the best baseball players. NONE of the MLB players are allowed on Olympic teams and yet the US still placed 3rd.

::TOPIC::
I never really watched soccer seriously unitl today and I must say that Trinidad game was very entertaining seeing the underdogs hold up their own with only 10 guys.

Every one of those playes plays in the NBA ... How many Argentinians (who won the olympics) or the Italians (who came in second) play in the NBA?

I thought we were discussing who gets to earn the title of "world champ" - the team that wins in the international arena of competition, or the team that wins in the USA?

Dude its a lame discussion. NHL, NFL, MLB are simply NOT WORLD CHAMPIONS. They are Champions of US/North America. Even if they could beat any other club on Earth, the "could" doesn't give them a World Champion title.

And dude, don't fuckin complain about your basketball team dude... all of them are badass players and as far as i know, there are more experienced people than you and I who pick the roster.
