"The citizens of the Dover area were poorly served by the members of the Board who voted for the ID Policy," Jones wrote.

I'm fine with everything he said but that line, they were not poorly served, many of the citizens support the idea of ID, thus those members who voted were serving those who elected them just fine. Just cause they were wrong doesn't mean they didn't do what the people elected em to do. But this is of course a minor issue, Judge got this one right. Now if he would just order manditory religion classes that teach about all major world religions we would be set.

dude, have you been following this at all? All eight members on that school board that wanted creationism taught were voted out during the next schoolboard elections ... so, yeah, I think it fits to say that the citizens were poorly served.

Yeah I have been following it. I'm not convinced that the votes of this area didn't agree with the policy but just didn't want the national attention they were getting. Granted this is PURE SPECULATION on my part. However I still don't think that they were poorly represented and even if they were, that sort of inflamatory shit should be saved for online message boards, not official court documents.

You know, it struck me while reading this story that it just takes a certain level of intelligence to understand ID. Which explains much in my opinion.

Darwinian evolution is not good science. It is so full of holes and has been disproven over and over by people much smarter and more informed about the topic than I am. IMO, it takes more faith to believe in the crap science of darwinian evolution than to believe that God created Earth.

phoenix, if you read the judge's decision you would see that the school board repeatedly lied about stuff to the judge and the press.

any public official who lies is poorly serving the public (but don't they all lie?).

Finally, although Buckingham, Bonsell, and other defense witnesses denied
the reports in the news media and contradicted the great weight of the evidence
about what transpired at the June 2004 Board meetings, the record reflects that
these witnesses either testified inconsistently, or lied outright under oath on several
occasions, and are accordingly not credible on these points.

...

As we will discuss in more detail below, the inescapable truth is that both
Bonsell and Buckingham lied at their January 3, 2005 depositions about their
knowledge of the source of the donation for Pandas, which likely contributed to
Plaintiffs’ election not to seek a temporary restraining order at that time based
upon a conflicting and incomplete factual record. This mendacity was a clear and
deliberate attempt to hide the source of the donations by the Board President and
the Chair of the Curriculum Committee to further ensure that Dover students
received a creationist alternative to Darwin’s theory of evolution.

also, if you read judge's decisions you'll often find remarks like those. ..

Well let's make this simple. You don't have to prove Genesis and I won't have to prove evolution. Let's just simply compare the existence of a monkee to God for evidentiary purposes.

Here is indisputable evidence (video) that monkees exist AND that we are much closer than you think!

Now, show me a picture or video of GOD.

A dog has much of the same anatomy and physiology as a human, so maybe dogs are the missing link!

Until something is proven, popular theories about the beginning of the universe should be presented, and let the individual decide which one they think has more merit.

Evolution is a proven fact. Evolution, as the origin of man, is not.

The question on everyones lips is:

What does Keyser think about this?

Benedict, you are a joke, and your slander does not help your argument, it just proves your ignorance.

I don't need to make an argument. I'm right. Evolution is a fact. The only way it's a theory is in relation to the origin of humans.

Look it up, and not on some Christian-biased website.

P.S. I'm an asshole because it's funny.

Theory of Evolution is proven in many animal species as well as plants. In man, it is assumed by intelligent persons.

In my opinion Creationism is a given, as there must be a beginning, but then who created God makes my brain hurt. I like ID as a bridge between what I see as a false dichotomy, but it appears that it is just a tool of the religious right (aka wackos).

Just know that there are many Christians who support both faith and science, they are not mutally exclusive.

EMl states my point exactly. Evolution and Creationism do not necessarily have to be mutually exclusive. Who is to say that God did not create the universe, and THEN set the process of evolution into motion? Nobody knows. No theory as to the origin of the species can be proven, not even the origin of animals. Therefore, no ONE theory should be presented as fact.

Moronic blanket statements like Benedict's exhibit ignorance and intolerance.

P.S. - there areplenty of "non-Christian" sources that poke holes in Darwin's theory of Evolution.

Micro-evolution = animals adapting to their surroundings. (true) Macro-evolution = wales turning into cows. (false) IMHO
