NOTHING wrong with Zeppellin or Halen or hell.. even Skynard.

I can't stand rap. Some of it is alright when I need an self-ego boost from time to time, but other than that... gah. Tasteless.

Seriously, rhyming is easy. I give props to who ever produces the songs, but other than that.. pfft.

Enya is good to study to, have sex to, but not for LANing, k thanks.

And I just noticed soundtrack from Purple Rain - leave that home too you nut. If you are homosexual that is acceptable, but if you serously think we want to listen to makeout music at a LAN, well perhaps you got the wrong impression of what goes on at TEXAS Lans pal...

I guess you missed the "Don Knots Interview" also? You know, from Andy Griffin fame?

I don't think there was a single band that I listed that I actualy WANT to hear at the LAN party.

The only thing that seperates Okies from idiots is the Red River.....

I better draw you a picture so there can be no confusion.

oklahoma's college towns are the biggest shitholes in the world (norman and stillwater)

we stopped at a gas station and there was just a kid, that did nothing but hang out there all day, because that's all there was to do there

Norman is a nice town... Don't know about Stillwater. I'm not big on OSU. Heard it was kinda dumpy. Norman in comparison to other college towns is like heaven. Most university towns I have been in are near ghettos. Norman is actually quite nice. To bad its near OKC (arm pit).

Most people form their oppinion about Oklahoma from OKC... Tulsa is actually nice. OKC is a sewer IMHO. I spent alot of time there when I was going to OU. Bricktown is getting better, but it still has a long way to go.

If I was going to be honest on what music I want to hear I would say a resounding "none" unless its during lunch or dinner. I hate background noise when gaming. I can deal with people talking and yelling, but having the constant hum of music gets on my head. I can deal with it, but its not my preference.

If I was going to name some groups I actually like and others might like also, then I would go with:

Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Bob Marley
Wonder Stuff
New Order
Ministry
KMFDM
Violent Femmes
and any fuzz pop

Something upbeat, but not too angry. So ministry and NIN may be a bad choice. KMFDM is always good.

Some kind of techno trance would be kinda cool also. Something with beats, but no distracting lyrics.

Heh, my extended family lived in Norman in their college years, and my sister's godparents live in Tulsa.

I enjoy Tulsa, and OKC is crap.

Doc,

You couldn't be more right. Tulsa is like the secret town in Oklahoma. OKC gets all our tax dollars and ignores us, but we take good care of our town. Lots of trees, nice parks, and we segregate our city. Mostly crap west and north with South and East being pretty nice. A new 1,500 SF home runs about $100,000 and property tax on it would be around $1,100 in Tulsa county.

Surprisingly enough, if you are into the bar scene, Tulsa has a pretty good underground scene. Downtown is swifty becoming a happening spot also. If you like underground Punk Rock back in the late 80's and early 90's Tulsa freaking owned. There were concerts all the time in little run down buildings. Had a good time as a kid here.

I might add, that Tulsa is the only town that a person can run around in Downtown at night without having to worry about anything. Not because there are police, but because its totally vacant except the little party district. I used to ride skateboards in downtown all night. Had a blast.

Cata - you know why TX doesn't fall into the Gulf of Mexico?

- that's right, because Oklahoma sucks.
