That's pretty amazing. Glad to know we have people like that willing to defend our country.

That's the reason I didn't say "who IS defending our country." I was hoping to avoid random poilitcal commentary, when obviously this thread is to highlight this guy's extreme devotion to his fellow soldiers.

Regardless of your politics, it's an honor to have people like this who put themselves in harms way in the service of this country. <# for all our guys and gals.

I doubt very much that 1st sgt Kasal would have much use for a man doll.

G$'s post about LTC Kurilla made me wonder what happened to 1st Sgt Kasal. Here's a fresh link to the article, although the text is huge:

I did a little digging, and found Geoff Milke's (a friend of Kasul) blog, which has given periodic updates to his condition. To summarize, Kasul's leg was saved, and after the shattered section was removed, the bone grew back together well, although he was missing about four and a half inches. He's undergone a painful process with halo braces and bolts in his leg to stretch the bone, and has regained the lost length. He's due to get the braces off in about a month, and they'll see where it goes from there. Here are the blog posts:

Friday, April 15, 2005: 1st Sgt Kasal is doing GREAT!!!
Sunday, April 10, 2005: Update on 1st Sgt Brad Kasal
