Dungeons of Dredmor

This ones for you K2, stumbled across this one while watching starcraft vids, its a Rogue style game with actual graphics and mouse support. Graphics are cartoonish, very silly humor, tongue in cheek type stuff. You have the option to play hardcore which is no restart on death, like the old school v...

Things I learned from...

This is a forum topic people do for bad movies, simply watch bad movie, and point out the glaringly stupid parts with a "things I learned from" bit. Start your own, or add to an existing movie posted. I'll start with one I just watched. Things I learned from "Hunt to Kill" 1. Ste...

Games I'm looking forward to playing

Gonna toss this one here because a good bit of what I play is RPG, with other stuff mixed in if it looks good. Dishonored: Awesomesauce +5, RPG/Adventure game from the people who made the thief games (all of which I loved) Deus Ex (another I loved) and Arx Fatalis (which had some great ideas boggled...

Re: Dungeon Master series

Yeah Eye was based off Dungeon Master, tons of bad clones out there too. Eye and DM were the only good ones IMHO, what I like about the DM series over the Eye series is not having to enter stupid manual passwords every time you want to save/start. SSI was really annoying with their copy protection. ...

Dungeon Master series

Heya all I was scanning the internets for some older classics I enjoyed and found someone had rewritten the Dungeon Master series for modern pc's (the originals started in 1987 for the Commodore Amiga!!). Definately an oldie but goodie imho, classic dungeon exploration in first person. The graphics ...

Re: Guild Wars 2

I've done some digging since I first posted, this one is definately on my next mmo list, so far its shaping up to be everything I want in an mmo. Not espousing pretty leaf physics, or promising to be WoW but better (looking at you Rifts), its going in an entirely new direction, even the mechanic I f...

Re: Age of Empires 2

Might want to check out Abandonia.com K2, tons of older abandonware there, including the newly released as abandonware Elder Scrolls:Daggerfall (they already had Arena). Playing Fantasy General now, just one of a dozen or so SSI "General" titles. I like the site because they go the extra m...

Battle for Wesnoth

Free turn based strategy game, similar to the Fire Emblem series. You have one command unit that recruits (or recalls) units to fight your battles. There are a ton of missions, with lots of story arcs so it doesn't get stale, or end up with you having a pack of super troops railroading the ai. Units...

No dice here, got Age of Wonders with the Titans exp, and Civ 3 but no AOE2, had it at one time I'm sure since I'm a fan of the series.

Hunted: The Demon's Forge

Just picked this one up a couple of days ago so this is an early review. So far its been pretty good, I put it under FPS/Action because the only thing it has that even resembles an RPG is skills you can "level up". As per the usual this is a console (ps3) review. The good Easy controls: li...

Guild Wars 2

After plodding through WoW for about a year I quit out of sheer boredom, this http://www.guildwars2.com/en/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; will be my next mmo. Looks VERY promising and "fresh" not just "look we're WoW but better" like everything else coming out, o...

Re: Mass Effect 2

No Dragon Age 2, wasn't too thrilled with the first but I asked the EBGames guy if he'd give me a "no suck" guarantee on it (something he does with me if he really thinks the game is good, I can return it for full refund if I disagree), he declined so I'm skippin it. Picked up Hunted:The D...

Mass Effect 2

As always this is a console review, pc gaming may vary :P Honestly Bioware has been disappointing me since the end of Neverwinter Nights 2. Dragon Age was pretty meh to me, and Mass Effect 2 hasn't blown my socks off. The story is as always pretty good, although most of the npcs are pretty meh, they...

Fallout: New Vegas (PS3)

Had some high hopes for this one, the expansion to F3 made it a much more fun game, figured Bethesda woulda learned from that.... It's classic Bethesda, full of graphics glitches that remind me of Arena, huge areas of mountain that weren't finished. Tons of game crashes, VATs is now real time so it'...

Wouldn't bigger ied's mean even more casualties in hummers? Nice you got to be in a Stryker, most of my other military pals are stuck with the lee press on plated hummers, of course they aren't engineers either...

Re: For you military folks. New lightweight .50cal being dev

Lots of ways to displace blowback in a rifle design nowaday :) You probably wouldn't see them even if you were active in 20 years K2, the U.S. Military prefers to use it's cheapest resource, humans over the more costly tech stuff. Thats why our troops are still rolling around urban zones in the deat...

I avoid the family drama by avoiding the family :) I usually celebrate with friends who I consider more like family than my blood relatives. This year was great, all the food turned out perfect and fortunately we had a ton of it because half the "family" were enjoying California's new libe...

Saw Sam back in the day, too damn funny. All the good comics die and we're left with shit like Seinfeld, and Dennis (I made my career ripping off Dan Hicks) Leary.

Re: S&W SW1911

1996 the first mk-23's were delivered to the US military for operational deployment. The mk-23 was the first .45acp pistol to enter US military service since the M1911. I noticed in 2004 both Sig and H&K got homeland security contracts. Found a blurb saying the USP compact tactical was going the...

Thought the Seals used the USP .45, the elite version with the slightly extended barrel with silencer grooves.

Thats freakin insane sX, seriously brand spankin new? I've not seen one under $1400 or so in Cali at shops or the pathetic dying gun shows we have.

Saw one at a show with visible wear for $1100.....
