The stock market is driven by peoples *perceptions* - as long as the system can be affected by emotion, it will continue to be flawed.

That 700 billion wont be injected into the economy right away, and it wont be all at once, either. Read up on the details of the bill. It's going to take time for the bailout bill to start taking effect.

Hey look kids. The Armaggeddon needed to be avoided by pushing that god forsaken bill, cause if we didn't, "the end is coming". Guess what? The Dow just took a 5% nose dive as of this post, after the bill was passed. Explain to me why we just wasted 700 billion again?

Had they not bailed out the fuckers we wouldn't have bottomed out, we would have possibly hit hard times but then the economy would have had a chance to get to where it should be. This bailout simply enables fuckups to keep fucking up, and possibly lead to a much worse outcome than if the government had left well enough alone. Interest rates and housing costs too high? Well good thing the government stepped in so they could keep em nice and high........

We wouldn't want people getting a realistic housing price, or realty companies to play by the "rules", much better to just bail em out and let em keep up the same game.

Shit, any MORON could see they were headed for bad times when people working minimum wage jobs were qualifying for houses........

Might as well predict the apocalypse while you're at it lol.

Changes are inevitable and things will get worse before they get better. But it'll require an absolute worst case scenario for the USA to completely bottom out. Likely not to happen...sorry doomsayers.

Random "events" worldwide and within the USA will also shape our economy in ways we don't even know yet.
